Your Presents Are Not Needed

I would like to spend my life today
Have all proceeds go to picking up people’s crap
Keeping the blinds dusted
Making sure no one gets upset
And towards guilt for when children get sick
Depressed unemployed
And a memorial plaque
Mom was this mom was that
You just couldn’t say certain things to her
She had a quick temper
She went hypoglycemic on you
Mom did
She liked the table clean
I would like to spend my life today
Break it into smaller bills
Coins in a foreign currency
Smash it against the wall
You pick up the brittle bits
You say mom gave me these shards
These sharps
No you moron mom loved you
A woman you never knew gave you these
Leftover from her foreign life
Spent
Sent to you across the sea
Not in the same currency
Not in the same coin
Almost in the same amount
Save for some change she kept for herself
For dream pictures in the
Dark movie brain
